For over 100 years we have been successfully addressing the issue of wood protection. The name of our company is closely linked to Julius Rütgers, a pioneer in the field of creosote impregnation of railway sleepers. Since 1939 RÜTGERS operated several impregnation facilities throughout Europe.

The impra®lit wood preservation brand from RÜTGERS Organics was first launched on the market in 1949. Since then we have continued to refine the products to meet the high standards of protection for wood, systems and the environment.
In recent decades we have made our name through innovations such as chrome- or heavy metal-free wood preservatives and have re-stimulated the market. We have thereby become a leading supplier in Europe of wood preservatives and wood finishing products.
Since 2011 we have also been marketing our innovative products and solutions in North America.

All impra^®lit products are manufactured according to strict in-house certified product quality standards. Our products are tested in long-term tests and approved at the national and international level. To this end we maintain test fields worldwide to test our products under the toughest climatic conditions. We are also certified according to DIN 9001 and undergo ongoing external monitoring. We are proud of our strictly-tested “Made in Germany” quality!

We use modern technologies that allow a comprehensive evaluation of a product in every phase of development. With modern analytical equipments, we also regularly check how the quality of our impralit® products compare with the competition.
The Polymeric Betaine biocide is a good example of impra^®lit development.
The first products with this material were the chromate-free formulation impra^®lit-KDS and the heavy metal-free product impra^®lit-TSK 10 plus the innovative blue stain and mould-protective product impra^®lit-BSK 10, which was first launched on the market in 2011.
